Original Caption: You cannot complete your birding life-list until you visit the Aleutian Islands and see a Crested auklet. Found only along this route of the Marine Highway this is typically the last bird on a dedicated birdwatcher's list. The US Fish and Wildlife Service estimate that over 40 million birds comprised of 250 species live in the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge. Many of these birds can only be found in this area.
