THE GIRAFFE. The tallest of all animals, deriving its exceptional height from its great length of neck and limbs. The group in this picture is shown with its native surroundings, among the mimosa trees of its native Africa. The spotted coat and tufted tail are here seen, and the animal hav- ing its head most to the right in the picture also exhibits another peculiarity of these animals—the long and elastic tongue.
