Brittany Tominez - War in the Pacific National Historical Park
Summary
My name is Brittany and I am from the island of Guam. I am recent graduate from Chaminade University of Honolulu with a B.S. in Environmental Studies and a minor in Biology. This summer I will be interning with the War in the Pacific National Historical Park on Guam. My position for this internship is a Natural Resource Interpretive Assistant.
My career goals consist of restoring ecosystems to their prior states before any impairments due to human activities. In addition, I want to be able to help rebuild these ecosystems to be resilient towards any new impairments. I have had experience applying restoration methods on ecosystems found in watersheds on Guam and Hawaii. These methods include the removal of invasive plant species along stream banks and taro patches, surveying and monitoring coral reefs, and the removal of macroalgae from a coral reef.
When I am not helping to restore ecosystems, my hobbies include outrigger canoe paddling, snorkeling, and hiking.
