Summary
BOSTON - Chief Petty Officer David Pierias, executive petty officer at Station Chatham, Mass., displays an award presented to him during a graduation ceremony at the station Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009. Pierias helped 12 other station personnel earn their associate degrees in Science from Vincennes University. Pierias is also a graduate. The graduates worked extra hours to earn their degrees in addition to the regular, demanding workload that comes with working at a small boat rescue station.
