US COAST GUARD Graduation ceremony

BOSTON - Chief Petty Officer Randy Rose, engineering petty officer at Station Chatham, Mass., gives a speech during a graduation ceremony at the station Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009. The ceremony was for 13 station enlisted members who received their associate degrees in Science from Vincennes University. Rose is also a graduate, and pointed out how important education is to him in his remarks. The 13 graduates worked extra hours to earn their degrees in addition to the regular, demanding workload that comes with working at a small boat rescue station.
