Groton-area Chiefs receive the Proclamation Award

(Nov.8, 2017) Groton Mayor, Bruce Flax (Right) and Town Council, Bonnie Nault (middle) presented Chief Electronics Technician, Submarine, Navigation Jason Crane(left) assigned to Naval Submarine Support Center, New London with a proclamation award during a town hall meeting at the Groton Town Hall Annnex, Nov 8. Crane accepted the award on behalf of the 2017 Groton-area Chief Petty Officers and Chief Selects. The award was presented to the Chiefs on behalf of the Poquonnock Plains Park, Groton Veterans Memorial, Groton Senior Center and Groton Town Council to honor the completion of the community service project at Poquonnock Plains Park. The participants made improvements to the park by installing rope barriers, power washing, weeding, mulching, painting, staining and minor construction projects.
