Newark, N.J., Dec. 12, 2012 -- The Port Authority of New Jersey was severely flooded during Hurricane Sandy, which destroyed key roadways that connect the Port's moving commerce. FEMA provides supplemental Federal disaster grant assistance for debris removal, emergency protective measures, and the repair, replacement, or restoration of disaster-damaged, publicly owned facilities and the facilities of certain Private Non-Profit (PNP) organizations.
