Queens, N.Y., Nov. 15, 2012 -- Alexander Romanov, Director of Federal-State Russian Airmobile Rescue Service, Moscow, and Alexey Audeev, Deputy Director of International Cooperation Department EMERCOM of Russian, listen to Phil Parr, Deputy Federal Coordinating Officer (FCO) during a tour of FEMA's DR-4085 Joint Field Office (JFO) in Queens, New York. Following the onslaught of Hurricane Sandy, FEMA coordinates its work in New York at the FEMA JFO in Queens and supports state, local, tribal and volunteer agencies in their disaster response activities. FEMA also welcomes the cooperation and assistance of international experts such as the Russian Airmobile Rescue Service who are familiar with disaster response techniques needed to assist communities in need of relief.
