Sailors with the USS San Diego and Marines with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit meet up with National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) researchers for recovery from Pearl Atoll, Pacific Ocean, Aug. 8, 2014. Marines and sailors from the 11th MEU and Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group team recovered 11 personnel from three isolated islands more than 900 nautical miles northwest of Hawaii and directly in the path of Hurricane Iselle.
