Strait Transit, US Marine Corps Photo
Summary
An F-35B is photographed as the Whidbey Island-class amphibious dock landing ship USS Rushmore (LSD 47) and San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS Anchorage (LPD 23) conduct a simulated strait transit behind the Wasp-class Amphibious ship USS Essex (LHD 2) April 30, 2018. Amphibious Ready Group (ARG), Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) Exercise (ARGMEUEX), provides essential and realistic ship-to-shore training, designed to enhance the integration of the Navy-Marine Corps team. ARGMEUEX provides an opportunity to integrate unique individual and unit skills and develop the Essex ARG and 13th MEU’s collective proficiency in challenging and unfamiliar environments.
