lows extension. That lensgives a beautifully clear enlargement and I have found it themost useful of any form for photographing detail so as toshow in the photograph about what one would see using aone inch pocket magnifying glass. I cordially recommendphhotographing of honeybees to my fellow amateurs becausethere is the charm of the danger in it—the same principle thatinspires the hunter to brave the lion in the jungle with hiscamera, should inspire the photographer of honeybees. Thereis no other kind of photography that gives just that samefeeling that it was a little dangerous and yet I did it well.Still there is not really so much danger as there seems to be.The principal caution is to move slowly and make all motionsleisurely. The bees have a dislike for the camera and some-times will attack it vindictively. It is well to place it in posi-tion and then step back and let them get accustomed to it as aperfectly still object before there is any attempt at manipu-lating the camera.
