The theater opened in 1937 with close to 700 seats. By 1957 it was operated by Robert L. Lippert Theatres Inc. Today (2018) the Varsity Theatre is a multiplex theatre that shows first-run, art and independent films. It is operated by Coming Attractions Theatres.
