U.S. Marine Corps Master Gunnery Sgt. Shalanda Raynor (right), Combat Camera Chief, Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va., is retired by (ret.) Capt. Nicole Hooks at the Semper Fidelis Chapel, National Museum of the Marine Corps, Triangle, Va., Dec. 30, 2015. Raynor enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1993 and was trained as a still combat photographer. She is the first female in Marine Corps history, in her MOS, to achieve the rank of Master Gunnery Sergeant, and has served faithfully for 23 years.
