"Norman, Okla., November 7, 2013 -- Members of FEMA Corps Team Hickory 3 viewing the National Weather Center's (NWC) 'Science on a Sphere' during a tour of the center's campus in Norman, Oklahoma. Nicole Robertson, Program Manager at the NWC's Office of Weather Programs & Projects, explains the sphere is a global display system that uses computers and video projectors to display looped, animated images of atmospheric storms, climate change, and ocean temperature onto the six foot diameter sphere. The previous 30 days of the world's weather, including Super Typhoon Haiyan as it formed and later approached the Philippines, was being shown on the day of Hickory 3's visit."

"Norman, Okla., November 07, 2013 -- Members of FEMA Corps Team Hickory 3 tour the National Weather Center and Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Okla. In the background is the RaXpol, a rapid-scan, high-resolution, polarimetric, mobile, truck-mounted Doppler radar. Recently acquired by the Oklahoma University School of Meteorology through a grant from NSF, this radar is the first system that will be able to achieve a fully polarimetric image of an entire severe storm, along with everything else within the storm's range, in less than 30 seconds. "

This room was built after the May 20, 2013 Moore, OK tornado and is located a block from the Plaza Towers Elementary School where 7 students lost their lives that day.
