There are at least two reasons why the citizens of Port Orford, Oregon, went to extensive lengths to point the way to the Pacific Ocean and its magnificent views. One is that it's easy to miss the turn to the road leading that way. The other is that visitors coming from the north, especially, drive many, many miles along the "Oregon Coast Highway" without glimpsing the sea before finding the way in Port Orford
